Arte Fiera: Bologna’s shirt to be exhibited as an art piece at Macron’s event “Shirts of Light”
Football shirts are magical, emotional vehicles for artistic expression. In this light, Macron has created the “Shirts of Light” exhibition at the Macron Store Galleria Cavour at the time of Arte Fiera, Italy’s longest-running modern and contemporary art fair. The exhibition, which is free to visit from 7 to 13 February, will be made up of five different pieces that pay homage to three of Bologna FC 1909’s 24/25 shirts.
The five different artworks were created by the Bolgnese artist Michele Astolfi, who decorated the shirts with tiles created from hand-painted Murano glass and embellished with Swarovski crystals. The artist used the home shirt, the third shirt and the special Champions League shirt developped by Macron. For the special kit, Astolfi used Riccardo Orsolini’s shirt that he wore on his Champions League debut against Liverpool at Anfield.
The art show will open tomorrow evening at 19:00 CET at the Macron Store Galleria Cavour, preceded by a short press conference explaining the exhibition. The speakers will be Angelo Marino, Macron Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Marco di Vaio, Bologna FC 1909 Sporting Director, and, the artist himself, Michele Astolfi.
