Calendar, Thiago Motta’s thoughts

This what coach Thiago Motta had to say after the release of the fixture list for the new season: “A stimulating start to the season that in the first five matchdays will see us face AC Milan and Juventus, among the strongest teams in the league, then Cagliari, newly promoted and certainly motivated by the return to Serie A, Verona away and Napoli, the Italian champions. I am convinced, however, that the calendar has a relative influence on a team’s campaign; I am used to thinking match by match in the certainty that there are no easy matches. It will therefore be important to be ready as early as August, with the squad completed as soon as possible during the training camp, in order to obtain the optimal conditions and motivation to take the field every Sunday with the attitude of those who want to achieve the goals they have set themselves.
