Di Vaio to Sky: “The squad made a good impression in the first important friendly”
Here is what Club Manager Marco Di Vaio had to say to Sky following Monday’s 1-1 pre-season draw against Köln: “After two weeks of intense training, last night we put on a good show during the first important friendly. The squad’s response was positive. We tried to be very structured, making the most of our characteristics. As for our intentions in building the squad, we want the coach to have some more options in attack, whilst also keeping hold of high-class players like Verdi and Di Francesco. We are happy with Poli because he always tries to be a point of reference for his teammates when out on the field and this is what we expected from him. Destro is determined and putting in a lot of effort. He wants to have a great season. We are hoping that he is consistently fit for the entire campaign and this way he can strive to score more goals. Simone Verdi knows that everyone is expecting further improvements from him this year and he is working hard to show it. He can’t wait.”
