Donadoni: “I expect to see great intensity”
Coach Roberto Donadoni stressed the need for his side to play with intensity against Cagliari tomorrow at 12:30 CEST at the pre-match press conference.
The Rossoblu boss was adamant that the Sardinians must not be underestimated, although he is most eager to see commitment from the players as they look to recover from a heavy defeat away at Torino.
“Cagliari had a great season last year, they already had a solid team and they’ve strengthened this season with some experienced players like Borriello, Padoin and Isla,” said Donadoni.
“This shows their value and tomorrow we will have to play a game with a focus on intensity and commitment which must be very different from our last game. Cagliari went behind against Roma before coming back with two goals. They have good attacking players who can make a difference and they deserve great respect. We want to and have to recover from the negative performance and result against Torino.”
Donadoni then went on to discuss his aims with the side.
“The objective is to help these boys develop, the ingredients are there but they still have to show more and improve and so I want to accompany these players as much as possible as they devlop. It’s still hard to offer an exact judgement on a side at this point. We’re better when we approach each game as it comes without thinking too much and then we pick up points. There’s three points to play for in every game and the three points are always fundamental for us.”
