Donadoni: “We need more conviction and more character”

Coach Roberto Donadoni’s thoughts on tonight’s heavy defeat: “We started well and put in a high-tempo performance for the first few minutes and it was a shame that we conceded two soft goals. I asked for a big reaction at half-time but instead we paid the price for losing our composure and coming second in lots of 50/50s. We need to learn how to read the game situation better, we were too naive and not proactive enough. We played too safe in possession, without daring to try and create problems for the opposition. We needed more conviction and more character.”
