Mihajlovic’s career
After 626 matches as a player with 106 goals scored, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s managerial career began at Bologna when he replaced Daniele Arrigoni in November 2008, leaving the role in April 2009 when Giuseppe Papadopulo came in. The following season, he took over at Catania in December, keeping the Sicilians up comfortable as they picked up a record points tally for Serie A (45, 36 of which came under Mihajlovic in 23 games) as they finished 13th. That performance with Catania saw him earn a fresh opportunity with Fiorentina. He stayed in Tuscany for a year-and-a-half, finishing ninth before being sacked after ten games the following season.
In May 2012, he took over in the Serbia role after a decade spent as an iconic player. He remained with the national team until Autumn 2013 when he moved to Sampdoria, leading the Blucerchiati to safety before a great campaign in the 2014-15 season when they finished seventh after occupying a Champions League spot for much of the season.
Named the Coach of the Year, he signed with AC Milan in June 2015, leading the Rossoneri for 32 matches and taking them to a Coppa Italia final. His aggressive 4-3-3 bore fruit at Torino who did very well in the first half of the 2016-17 season before finishing ninth with 71 goals scored.
He was less successful in his second season at Torino, leaving a year ago with five wins and ten draws. In the same, he was named coach of Sporting Clube de Portugal but never took up the role after being replaced by the newly-elected President.
In January 2019, Sinisa Mihajlovic returned to Serie A with Bologna.
Has been the coach for 245 matches in Serie A with 82 wins, 92 draws and 71 defeats.
