Oussama El Azzouzi joins Bologna

Bologna FC 1909 can confirm that midfielder Oussama El Azzouzi has joined the Club on a permanent deal from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The second Moroccan in our history, Oussama was born in the Netherlands and holds a Dutch passport. He is a young midfielder (born in 2001) and has great technique and vision. He recently won the Under-23 AFCON with Morocco, playing in a central creative role. He often plays just in front of the defence but can play further up the pitch. El Azzouzi developed at Vitesse’s academy first, then moved to Groningen. He made his professional debut two years ago with FC Emmen, with whom we won the Dutch second division before joining Union in the Belgian capital. Last season, he found regular game-time and contributed to Saint-Gilloise’s third-place finish in the Pro League, as well as reaching the Europa League quarter-finals where they were knocked out by Bayer Leverkusen.
