Saputo: “My thoughts are with the fans who’ve lost a great champion”

“With the passing of Marino Perani we’ve lost yet another monumental figure from the club’s history. He donned our shirt on 415 occasions and is fifth in the all-time list of club appearances. He was also one of the heroes from our last Scudetto triumph. With his dribbling, shooting and goals, he left a lasting impression on a whole generation of Rossoblu supporters and today they are crying. I got to know him first and foremost through the tales of those who saw him play and those who knew him both before and after his time at Bologna. But for now, I want to send my sincerest condolences to his family and also to our fans who’ve also lost a great champion.”
